Bagger Sports Break-In Process:
Our glove break-in process combines precision, care, and premium conditioning to deliver a near game-ready feel:
- Initial Loosening
We begin by loosening the glove using our mallet machine, which applies up to 1,000 pounds of pressure. This prepares the leather for optimal softening before steaming. - Pre-Conditioning
A specialized Mizuno pre-conditioner is applied to protect the leather and enhance softness during the steaming process. - Steam & Reshaping
After steaming, the glove is returned to the mallet machine, where we further shape and break it in for improved flexibility and performance. - Final Conditioning
Once fully dried, we finish with a light coat of glove conditioner to keep the leather hydrated and ready for use upon arrival.
Bagger Sports No Steam Break-In Process:
Our glove break-in process combines precision, care, and premium conditioning to deliver a near game-ready feel:
- Condition Glove
We begin by applying a light coat of glove conditioner to help soften the glove. This prepares the leather for optimal softening before the machine.
- Mallet Machine & Reshaping
Once conditioned, the glove is returned to the mallet machine, where we further shape and break it in for improved flexibility and performance.
Â
Once the break-in process is complete, your glove will be at least 75% broken in, depending on the quality of the leather. If you choose not to use steam, the glove will be about 65% broken in.
Once you receive the glove, it’s important to start playing catch right away. This helps the glove form to your hand and achieve the exact fit and feel you prefer.
To keep your glove in excellent condition, apply a glove conditioner periodically—about twice a year, depending on usage. Apply a light coat, less is more. Over conditioning the glove can cause it to become heavy and will lead to dirt sticking to the glove.
.
Note:
We do not accept returns on gloves that have been steamed. Gloves that have mesh materials, are drop-shipped or are under $99 are not recommended for glove steaming.
